Pamela
Block Vice President MissionWise® Division
Pamela is responsible for establishing the MissionWise division as a sustainable business unit contributing to the organization’s social and financial bottom line. She provides leadership to the division, including conveying the vision, establishing the value proposition and service model, and developing and implementing the business plan. As an officer of the organization and as a member of the Management team, Pamela is responsible for the organization’s fiscal and strategic direction and performance for achieving the organization’s mission and financial objectives.
Pamela is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur whose experience includes market and business development, sales leadership, and strategic partnerships. She joins C.H.E.F. from MediaPro, one of the leading organizations in custom online training development. During her time there, she helped corporations, government and nonprofit organizations develop and implement training programs to achieve organizational objectives through human capital development. Her clients included AARP, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, John Hancock, the US House of Representatives, Office Depot, Walt Disney, in addition to many others. Prior to this, Pamela was employed by Learn.com as a Regional Account Manager, responsible for building and leading a new territory for the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. Earlier in her career, she held start up leadership positions at SkillSoft, AchieveGlobal, and American Lead Consultants.
Pamela has also contributed to helping reduce health inequities both nationally and abroad. Leading and facilitating a steering committee, she worked to drive legislation to change lead-based paint laws helping reduce lead based paint exposure and poisoning in children. As a mother of two special needs children adopted from China, she also has worked extensively with the international adoption community and advocates on behalf of special needs Chinese orphans. She also supports The Association for Bladder Exstrophy.

Kathy
Burgoyne, PhD Vice President Health Equity Partners™ Division
Kathy is responsible for the operations of Health Equity Partners™. She provides vision and leadership for all Health Equity Partners business and product development, philanthropic activity, and evaluation. She is responsible for the Information Technology functions of the organization. As an officer of the organization and as a member of the Management team, Kathy is responsible for the organization’s fiscal and strategic direction and performance for achieving the organization’s mission and financial objectives.
Kathy has been working in the prevention field for over 25 years, both as a practitioner and as a researcher. Kathy has a bachelor’s degree in political science and education, a master’s degree in counseling, and a PhD in educational policy and leadership. She joined C.H.E.F. in 2002.

Gretchen
Hansen Community Health Advocate Program Coordinator Health Equity Partners™ Division
Gretchen is responsible for the leadership and management of C.H.E.F.’s Community Health Advocate Program while working cooperatively with the Salishan Community Association, the Local Advisory Committee, other community partners and the Community Health Advocates. She leads and coordinates the development and implementation of the Community Health Advocate Program and assists with its evaluation to ensure that the program meets the health and safety needs of the residents of the Salishan community.
Gretchen joins C.H.E.F. from the Tacoma Community House, where she was employed most recently as Adult Employment Coordinator. Prior to this, she served as Community Education Programs Manager at the Tacoma YWCA. Earlier in her career, Gretchen held positions with the Tacoma YWCA as Domestic 2 Violence Prevention Program Coordinator, as well as at Helping Hand House in Tacoma as Emergency Housing Specialist. Hansen is a graduate of the University of Washington, Tacoma. Gretchen joined C.H.E.F. in 2011.

Michelle
McCain Controller
Michelle is responsible for timely and accurate financial information for management and the Board of Directors, ensuring that internal controls are in place to protect the organization’s assets, maintain cash flow for operations, review the organization’s payroll, and provide a quality organizational budget and tax return. Michelle supervises the activities of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, and is responsible for billing and financial reporting of private and government funded grants, cooperative agreements and contracts. Michelle has been with C.H.E.F. since 1990.

Julie
Peterson Senior Director of Public Affairs
Julie is responsible for the vision, leadership, planning and implementation of a Public Affairs plan that promotes the organization’s mission through public policy.
Julie’s public policy advocacy and legislative work is recognized by Philanthropy Northwest, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services’ Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) and the National Network for Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities. Currently, Julie serves as the past president of the Washington Association for Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention. Prior to her arrival at C.H.E.F., she was the deputy director of the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission. She served as the agency's legislative liaison and a member of the interagency work group on drugs. Julie joined C.H.E.F. in 1989.

Laura
Torrell Program Director MissionWise® Division
Laura is responsible for internal operations of the MissionWise® Division, including: all grants and programs, systems, and processes required for the effective delivery of offerings. She oversees the delivery of seminars, webinars, plans, budgets, reports and timelines. She is also responsible for developing, monitoring and refining the systems to support the MissionWise division, including internal communications, dashboards, evaluation, and online tools.
Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from Central Washington University and is a certified Health Education Specialist. She is a current member and former board member of the Pacific Northwest Society of Public Heath Education, as well as a current member of Eta Sigma Gamma, a professional honor in Health Education, and the Social Enterprise Alliance. Laura joined C.H.E.F. in 2000.
